Sidwell played tough against Southridge High School from Oregon. Southridge, a high school in Beaverton, OR, has over 2000 students, and was easily the strongest competition the Quakers have battled during Spring Training.

Seven Sidwell players managed hits, but the Southridge defense was impressive and turned beautiful double plays in two different innings to kill would-be Quaker rallies.

Sidwell's pitchers worked well, only walking a single batter, and the defense was equally solid, finishing the game without committing a single error. However, the Southridge hitters were just too strong and recorded 17 hits, mostly on line drives to the outfield.

The Quakers tried to fight back in the seventh, with pinch hitter Johnny Allman starting the inning with a line-drive single to right field. Wes Roman then reached after being hit by a pitch. Then, things stalled when Lukas Williams put a ball in play, but the Southridge second baseman made a nice snag to start a 4-6-3 double-play. The next batter, Sam Stevens, hit a double to right field to drive in Sidwell's only run of the evening. The game ended early due to the 10-run rule with a final tally of 11-1.
