The first half of the game was played well, even if imperfectly, by both teams. But, at some point the Quakers lost their collective mind and decided that they weren't going to win. The approaches at the plate became tentative and errors accumulated in the field. Flint Hill was mentally tougher today, and their pitcher did an excellent job throwing a fastball and a breaking ball, both for strikes -- which is usually an effective combination at the JV level. The fact that earned runs to earned runs, Sidwell only lost 1-0 tells a reader pretty much all he or she needs to know about the game.
