The Skinny: Sidwell got off to a flying start against St. James and cruised to a 13-3 victory in 5 innings.

Synopsis: Sidwell was the away team in this contest, despite playing on their home field (which was appreciated, to be sure). This meant the Quakers got to hit first, and they used the opportunity well, scoring 7. Senior starting pitcher Nicholas Roman followed up the offensive display with one of equal impressiveness on the mound, striking out the side in order in the bottom of the 1st. Sidwell put it in cruise control after that, getting everyone in the game and winning by 10-run rule, 13-3

Analysis: Sidwell was clearly the better team in this game, outhitting St. James 10-4, and striking out 10 batters vs. only 1 by St. James. The Saints also gave the Quakers a lot, walking 11 and committing 3 errors. Sidwell was also dominant on the basepaths, stealing 7 bases on 7 tries.

Looking Ahead: Sidwell now sits at 6-2 in conference play, tied for 2nd with Maret. The Quakers have a doubleheader against Avalon and Chen this Saturday, and 2 huge games next week on Thursday and Saturday against Flint Hill and Potomac respectively. Sidwell will need to win both those games if they want to win the MAC regular season title.
