John McMurray came up big in the fourth inning, with a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double that gave the Quakers a 4-2 lead. Sidwell added an insurance run in the sixth and secured a 5-2 win.

Cody Encarnacion started for the Quakers and had good stuff, recording six strikeouts. He did issue five free passes, but he worked out of jams in gritty fashion and with minimal damage. Kevin Carpenter-Holmes showed his best stuff of the year in relief; he had his fastball and curveball working and was able to keep the Bullis hitters off balance. Clean defense was big for the Quakers, as defense was perhaps the difference in the game.

Sidwell caught several barrels but also struck out too much and left too many runners in scoring position. It was a good early-season win with a decent-sized list of things to focus on in the run-up to the Myrtle Beach trip.
