Sidwell was again its own worst enemy in an afternoon contest against St. Albans. Despite playing five innings of good baseball, the defense broke down in the second and third innings and quickly allowed 7 unearned runs. St. Albans is a good team and is hard enough to hold at bay without being spotted additional outs in multiple innings.
Other than poorly played defense at the start of the game, the defense was capable, the pitching was good, and the offense showed signs of life, including three extra base hits (including two big ones by George Marcou) but not quite enough to spark the a credible attempt at a comeback.
