The weather resulted in a disappointing end to a good season: after the Quakers loaded the bases and scored a run in the top of the first, with one out the bat slipped out of Stephanie Everett's hands on a swing, prompting the umpire to suspend the game due to sustained rain. The delay lasted about 15 minutes, which turned out to be about two minutes too long. Despite the abundant sunshine that followed the rain, several spots of standing water rendered the field unplayable.
