Sidwell and Bullis were back and forth for three innings, with prolific offense putting Bullis ahead 4-0, then Sidwell ahead 6-5, then back to a draw at 8-8. After the third, starter Logan Matthiesen came out. With no healthy regular pitchers available, the job fell to third baseman Ted Hefter, who did an admirable job out of position. Bullis pulled away, however, and the game ended 20-10 after five innings. Especially with a depleted roster, Sidwell fought hard and put forth one of its best offensive efforts -- unfortunately in a losing effort. Hits and RBI were strewn throughout the order -- and the Quakers are ready to do well as soon as a full complement of pitching is again available. The defense was improved, with the infield committing zero errors in a game in which they had plenty of work.
