In a game which was equal parts excellent and devastating, the Quakers held onto an awesome 1-0 lead through 6 2/3 innings. Then, with no one one and two outs, St. Albans mounted a three-run, two-out rally -- taking advantage of a few nice hits and a few SFS errors to take the lead. The game certainly gave weight to the idea that the last out is always the hardest one to record!

The player of the game was pitcher Adrian Vera, who needed only 66 pitches to get through 6 2/3 shutout innings. He pounded the strike zone, throwing first pitch strikes to 26 of 31 batters.

The Quakers have some offense to produce, but the first 20 outs on defense bode well for a good season.
