Sidwell lost by a wide margin in its first game of the season. Riverdale Baptist played a fundamentally sound game and took advantage of a variety of Quaker miscues, ranging from errors to plays that were made properly but not quickly enough, thus allowing a hustling Riverdale team to turn some outs into singles. The Quakers also did not get good jumps on defense, leading to a number of allowed hits that were either seeing-eye ground balls or fly ball hits.

The bright spot was some good hitting in the Quakers' first attempts against live pitching this season. So, there is something positive to build on -- in addition to there being plenty to fix in the early part of the season.
