The Quakers, backed by a dominant performance from pitcher Daniel Piho, ended the 2024 JV season on a high note with another 10-hit game to beat visiting Flint Hill on a steamy and sunny Thursday afternoon.

Finishing the a complete game with 82 pitches in about as many minutes, Piho dominated the Flint Hill batters one through nine, striking out a dozen Huskies on the day, nearly missing the JV single game record. Not to be outdone with the quest for a record, cleanup hitter Cody Encarnacion sent a first inning “no-doubter” into softball practice for a grand slam that would set the tone for the rest of the game for the home team Quakers; Encarnacion now stands atop the JV single-season homerun mark with three blasts on the year.

The Quakers again put balls in play all day and scored from nearly every spot in the lineup in the 8-1 win, a welcome finish to a wild year. The Quakers finish with a final record of 8-6-1, sending Coach Morris, the veteran third base signal caller, into the sunset with a great run at the end of the spring.

The entire Sidwell coaching staff would like to thank the parents for an exceptional season that saw its share of bumps and bruises, and with great admiration to the freshman class for stepping up in tough situations and executing good, quality baseball. A well done "tip of the cap" to all.
