Sidwell dropped a tough game to Flint Hill by a score of 3-5. The game moved quickly with both teams playing well defensively. Starter Luke Friedman did a great job keeping hitters off balance, striking out six batters in five and a third innings.

In a 0-1 hole going into the top of the fifth, Sidwell started off with Matt Sarro, who recorded a line drive single to right field. Matt Romansky laid down a nice sacrifice bunt, and then Chase Migas smacked a line drive off the pitchers glove and was safe at first with an infield single. Shane Tierney drove in the tying run and was put out at first.

Flint Hill scored in the bottom half of the inning to regain the lead but Sidwell quickly evened the score when Matt Levy drove in Chris Stevens with an RBI double in the top of the sixth. Unfortunately, the Huskies picked up three in their half of the inning, capitalizing well on a Quaker mistake (two of their three runs were unearned).

In the seventh, Flint Hill put their hard-throwing closer on the mound -- but Matt Romansky led off with a line drive double hit to right center field anyway. After a 5-3 groundout by Migas, a walk by pinch hitter Brandon Sickel, and an RBI single by Luke Friedman, the Quakers had put the tying run on with one out and Chris Stevens and Matt Levy coming up. Unfortunately, Stevens was rung up on a close call on an inside pitch with the count full, and Matt Levy went down the same way -- an abrupt and unfortunate end to what had the potential to be a terrific comeback.
