Sidwell won a comfortable game against Landon after having fallen in a 2-0 hole to start the game in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first, the Quakers came right back. Nick Roman led off the game with a double to deep left center. Finn Stern then scored him on a line drive to right field and was himself quickly scored on a triple hit by Sam Stevens over the left fielder. The Quakers added one more run on a sacrifice fly hit by David Steinbach. Starter Mark Ossolinski held Landon scoreless in the second, recording two strikeouts including one against Landon's third hitter who homered in the first. Sidwell added to its lead in the bottom half of the inning: Wes Roman led off with a base hit up the middle and he was later batted in by his brother Nick Roman at the tail end of a seven pitch at-bat with two outs.

Neither team scored in the third or fourth innings. In the fifth, Chase Plebani relieved Ossolinski, striking out two on the way to a 1-2-3 inning. In the bottom of the fifth, Matt McLaughlin led off with a hit and scored on a double driven to right-center by Finn Stern. Stern strained his hamstring running into second, and left the game. A fielder's choice by Steinbach and a base hit by Plebani gave the Quakers two more runs and a comfortable 7-2 lead.

Landon managed one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings, but they were not able to make much progress against Plebani who struck out two in each inning he pitched including the final batter of the game with three consecutive hard fastballs.
