In a game which was more competitive than the score indicates, Sidwell again had trouble with defense -- allowing nine unearned runs off of eight errors. The Quakers' pitching was excellent, with starter Logan Matthiesen going five strong innings. Matthiesen also contributed the Quakers' best hit, a long rbi double hit into the left center gap. Sidwell's offense was generally improved, moving runners into scoring position in half of the six innings and recording two hits with two outs and runners in scoring position (Matthiesen's already-mentioned hit and another by Tierney, a line drive to right with two strikes.) However, the Quakers did fail to score after loading the bases with only one out in the fourth -- at which point the score was only 2-7.

The Quakers look to have an improved game tomorrow morning, in the team's home opener against GDS.
