Sidwell traveled to play Baltimore Friends -- and after battling some serious traffic on the ride up -- had a terrific game. Logan Matthiesen was excellent on the mound, striking out six while only walking one over the six-inning complete game. The offense was also prolific with RBI coming from five different players.

Most impressive, however, was the defense. The defense made nearly all the routine plays and also turned three double plays. (1) Victor Doddy (1B) went back and toward the foul line to catch a foul pop-up; the runner tried to tag from second and Doddy fired across the field; shortstop Spenser Hyun was somehow in a good spot (a la Derek Jeter's famous play) to redirect the throw at the last minute to Max Johnson-Fraidin (3B) for the tag out. (2) In the fifth with a runner on second and one out Matthiesen snagged a line drive hit back at him, spun, and threw to Avery Schonberger who was covering second base. (3) To end the game Schonberger snagged a line drive hit up the middle and flipped to Hyun at second to double-up the frozen runner.
