In a game rescheduled from the early part of the season, the Quakers clawed back against St. Albans twice but ultimately went down in the eighth inning, losing a game that could have gone either way, with both St. Albans and Sidwell doing enough good things to win and making enough mistakes and missing enough opportunities to lose. The four-run seventh inning to tie the game and force extra innings was gritty.
Offensive highlights included Tommy Levy's multi-hit day -- and almost included a line drive from his brother Mikey: in the top of the third, pitcher Kevin Carpenter-Holmes started off with a double. After an out, Tommy singled and moved up on a wild pitch, putting runners on second and third with one out in a scoreless game. Unfortunately, the barrel that Mikey found was a line drive hammered just to the left of the shortstop who caught the line drive and doubled Tommy off of second base.
On defense, several good plays by Tommy at third and Eric Sun at short were only bested by an inning-ending outfield assist by Jay Horton in the fifth. He threw a dart from right field to nail a runner trying to go from first to third.
