Sidwell again out-hit their opponents in a losing effort. After falling in a 7-0 hole in the top of the first, the Quakers battled back, quickly putting up four runs in the bottom of the first and then two in the fourth and three in the fifth to bring the game to a 9-9 tie. Unfortunately, the defense broke down in the seventh with four errors in the infield allowing four GDS runs. The Quakers were unable to bounce back in the bottom of the seventh, and Sidwell lost to a tenacious GDS team, 9-13.

Despite the shoddy defense, there were multiple highlights for Sidwell, including a homerun hit onto Quebec Street by Will Mendez in the first and a full extension catch by Aaron Lewin in the right center gap in the top of the sixth to end the inning and prevent GDS from scoring the go ahead run.

Sidwell's two eighth grade players, Matt Levy and Luke Friedman, both pitched and did impressive work, including the fifth inning in which Friedman struck out three consecutive batters to retire the side.

Moving forward, the Quakers are looking to shore up their defense and keep the bats hot.
