The Quakers of Sidwell Friends kept the train rolling on Monday, beating Maret for their third road win in six days, behind a strong start from George Bankoff, tossing three scoreless innings in the 7-1 win. After getting on the board first with a two-out double off the bat of outfielder Porter Speece, Bankoff would get himself out of trouble with no harm done in the third, having loading the bases with three walks.

Sidwell added six more insurance runs in the later innings, with nearly all spots in the lineup contributing in some way with balls-in-play with runners in scoring position and less than two outs, but it was Speece, having entered the game to pitch in the 4th, who calmly got the last six outs of the time-limited game. While Sidwell did relinquish an unearned run in the final frame on a throwing error, the mishap proved to be only blemish in an otherwise solid defensive performance.

The Quakers look to continue the streak at home for the second and last matchup this season against the same Maret ballclub on Wednesday.
