Mark Ossolinski started on the mound for Sidwell in the MAC tournament semi-finals at Flint Hill. He pitched effectively, allowing six hits while striking out five and only walking one. His performance should have been enough to guide the Quakers to victory, but defensive miscues and squandered opportunities on offense resulted in a loss, 2-6.
Sidwell scored a run in each of the first two innings, but Flint Hill managed three runs -- all unearned off three errors -- during the same interval. Over the course of the rest of the game, Flint Hill added a few more runs, while Sidwell wasn't able to score again. At the plate, Sidwell didn't get any hits with two outs and was only 1-8 with runners in scoring position. Unfortunately, failing to execute fundamentals isn't a recipe for success against a good opponent like Flint Hill.
